The lives of children are improved when the lives of their parents are improved. We’ve all heard the saying “When Momma ain’t happy, no one is.” By removing stress in the lives of parents and by teaching them about their important roles in the lives of their children, we can empower them to become better parents. • Employment Assistance- Act Together offers an 8 week mentoring program for out of work parents.  This program is offered online and over the phone so that parents do not need to travel or arrange childcare.
  • Bible Study & Support Groups
  • Mentoring – A new mother is overwhelmed when she finds out her child has special needs.  Talking with an experienced mother of special needs children can greatly easy the fear and anxieties during this very difficult time.  A mother takes her children and leaves an abusive marriage.  She is now faced with filing for divorce, securing child support, finding employment, and finding a place to live.  An experienced single mom with a similar background is able to help.
  • Referrals & Resources – Act Together’s staff and volunteers come along side families during difficult times and help them obtain the assistance needed.  Sometimes this involves referring the family to another nonprofit or organization that is better equipped to meet the need.  A family with a special needs child may seek to find a church with programming for special needs children.  Single or widowed mothers often need affordable childcare and medical care.  We can help!
