Act Together Ministries offers a 12 week internship program 3 times per year: September-December, January-April, May-August.

Internship can count toward college credit but this is not required.

This position will be 30 hours a week for 12 weeks. Suggested hours are Monday- Friday 9am-4pm (hour off for lunch.) Occasional nights and week-ends may be needed but no more than 30 hours per week. This is an unpaid position. Many hours will be spent in the field and mileage will be reimbursed. Intern will have weekly meetings with the director in Alpharetta.

Intern will gain leadership and volunteer management experience. Intern will have the opportunity to experience a little of everything we do. Intern will assist the director in the day to day tasks as necessary. Based on the intern's comfort level, experience may be gained in the following areas: plan project(s), supervise volunteers, help with phone calls, work with the database, work with the website, get experience in the field and behind the scenes.

Projects: Intern will complete three projects during internship with Act Together.

Discipleship: Act Together’s Internship includes a weekly Bible Study. Intern will complete weekly Bible study assignments and attend group each week. Time in Bible Study will count in the 30 weekly hours.

Intern may gain experience in the following areas:

• Organizing and running a clothing closet.
• Planning and coordinating meals for families in need.
• Interacting with families in challenging situations.
• Working with at risk and special needs children.
• Interacting with business and community partners.
• Coordinating birthday packs and Christmas sponsorship for children.
• Organizing storage at the warehouse.
• Expressing gratitude to donors, partners, lead volunteers, etc.
• Supervising and coordinating groups of volunteers.
• Directing key volunteer leaders.

Requirements:

• Intern needs to be self disciplined.
• Intern will need access to a personal computer, phone and internet.
• Intern will need reliable transportation.
• Must have 60 hours of college work completed (Junior or Senior in College.)
