Sarah Cate Barnes is the Associate director of Student Ministry at Roswell United Methodist Church. She also has management experience serving as a team leader at Chick-fil-A for 12 years. She thrives in collaborative environments, seeks to make a difference in the world, and enjoys connecting with others. Sarah Cate graduated from the University of North Georgia in 2019 with a degree in psychology.

Brian Clark is the Chairman of the Act Together Ministries Board of Directors and is the publisher of The Georgia Sun and The Free State Press. He is the author of the book “Principles Are Like Pants… You Ought to Have Some,” and has been a guest speaker for several local community groups. He graduated from Oglethorpe University in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in communications. He and his wife have two sons.

Mary Cosgrove brings more than a decade of experience in marketing and content strategy across global organizations, along with a strong passion for mission-driven work. As a mother of three, she is deeply motivated by efforts that support and uplift children and families, and she is especially drawn to using her marketing expertise to create meaningful, lasting impact. Mary is a member of First Baptist Church in Cumming and looks forward to helping expand the reach and voice of Act Together Ministries as we serve our community.

Joy Gilbert is a pediatrician in Smyrna, GA. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at Oglethorpe University then went on to get her MD at Mercer University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah. Joy practiced outpatient medicine at Conyers Pediatrics from 2011-2021. After a family relocation, she started working as a pediatric newbornist at Wellstar Cobb in October 2021. She and her husband Nick live in Smyrna with their 2 sons, Evan and Jacob, and three cats. They are also members at Intown Community Church and are volunteers in the children’s ministry there.

Cleve Hill provides legal counsel for Act Together Ministries. Cleve is a managing partner of Georgia Legacy Law Group, LLC in Alpharetta. The law firm offers estate planning, probate/trust/estate administration, asset protection, guardianships and conservatorships, . He graduated magna cum laude from Oglethorpe University in 2001 and then went on to obtain his law degree, cum laude, from Mercer University in 2004. Mr. Hill resides in Canton with his family, and they attend Woodstock City Church. Cleve remains active at his alma mater where he currently serves as a Trustee for the Oglethorpe University Board of Trustees where he has chaired the Campus Life, Academic Affairs, and Mission Fulfillment Committees.

Doug Hooper handles our bookkeeping and accounting. Doug is retired after serving as CFO and COO across a variety of organizations and industries throughout his career.  He holds an MBA in International Business and has over 35 years of experience. Doug started the financial coaching ministry at Perimeter Church in Atlanta. Doug and his wife Heidi reside in Salem, SC and have two grown daughters, two son in laws and one grandson. He is passionate about helping those in need and serves as the Act Together board Treasurer.

Chris Lee currently serves as the Secretary for Act Together Ministries. He is a Managing Principal at Waypoint Capital Group where they focus on small business lending. Chris is a graduate from Kennesaw State University with a degrees in Finance and Economics. Chris resides in Canton with his wife, Jessica, and their 4 kids. They attend Restoration Church in Alpharetta, GA.

Sue Sharp brings a wealth of experience from her long career in the nonprofit sector, including serving as Executive Director of HomeStretch in the Atlanta/Roswell area, where she helped provide transitional housing for homeless families. In addition to her work with HomeStretch, she has served with Ahmen Housing, the Roswell Rotary, Roswell Women’s Club, Fulton County School Board, Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce, and St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church. Now retired, Sue is eager to dedicate her time and experience to advancing our mission, and we are grateful for the leadership, compassion, and community insight she brings to our board

In Memory…

Robert Covington was a founding board member and helped launch Act Together Ministries. He served on our board of directors for 16 years before passing away in November, 2025. We are thankful for his service and dedication to our cause.
