Parents of Special Needs Children Raising a child with special needs is a challenge that few understand. Act Together offers support to help you in this high (and at times difficult) calling. Our goal is for Christ’s love to be reflected. What we Offer to Families with Special Needs Children: - Annual Egg Hunt (March/April) – This event is always a ton of fun! Each child receives an Easter basket filled with goodies. The whole family enjoys a cook out lunch, games, crafts, and an egg hunt.
- Support – We have prayer partners who will pray for your family on a daily basis. We also offer Bible Study and Support Groups specifically for special needs parents that focus on the unique challenges and joys in your daily lives.
- Random Acts of Kindness – Our volunteers bless our ministry families with meals, assistance with yard work,
- Time For You – We occasionally offer Mom’s Morning Out (free childcare for 3-4 hours) or Pampering Nights for Moms of Special Needs Children.
- Mentoring – We have parents with years of experience on raising special needs children. They would be delighted to share some of their wisdom with struggling or new parents.
- Referrals – to networks, organizations, church groups and more. Need a church with facilities to accommodate your child? What about an online network of parents in similar situations?
- Misc. – We seek to meet the needs where they exist and are open to helping with various needs. Let us know and each desire/need will be evaluated on a case by case basis depending on the resources and volunteers we have available. Examples: help with landscaping, yard work, repairs, childcare, etc.
- If raising a special needs child causes a financial strain, we are able to help with school supplies, Christmas and birthday sponsorships, clothing/food, camp scholarships, and other needs.
Parents with Special Needs Children Sign Up All of our programs are funded by generous donations from people in our community. There is never a cost to the families.
