- Many of these families are living in shelters and housing programs. Others may have an apartment or modest home but struggle to make ends meet and to provide the essentials for their children.
- Partnerships- Apartment Life Ministries, Child Development Center, Habitat for Humanity, MUST Ministries, Norcross Co-op, North Fulton Community Charities, The Place in Forsyth, and Rainbow Village.
- Programs Act Together offers families in financial need- Back 2 School, Christmas and Birthday Sponsorship, Essentials: Clothing and Food, General Assistance, Summer and Enrichment Scholarships, Prayer Partners, Special Events, Job Mentoring Program, Life Skill Courses, Bible Study and Support Groups.
If your family is living below the poverty line and essential needs such as food and clothing are not being met, we are here to help you. You might be unemployed, disabled, or homeless. Act Together wants to assist you in meeting the needs of your children. What we Offer to Struggling Families - Back 2 School Event (August) – Each child will receive school supplies, hair cuts, medical and dental checks to start the school year off on the right foot.
- Christmas Sponsorship (December) – Sponsorship includes gifts and clothing for you to give your children (from you) on Christmas. We also have a Happy Birthday Jesus party for the children. This is always a big hit with cake, ice cream, Santa Claus, gifts, crafts and games to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
- Easter Baskets and Spring Clothing (March/April) – Another annual event that’s always a ton of fun! Each child receives an Easter basket filled with goodies. Spring clothing is available for growing children. The whole family enjoys a cook out lunch, games, crafts, and an egg hunt.
- Essential Needs – Act Together offers clothing, furniture/bedding, diapers/formula and food on an as needed basis. Please let us know about your situation and we will do our best to assist you in caring for your children.
- Birthday Needs – Let us know your child’s birthday and we will provide party supplies and gifts that you can give (from you.)
- Camp Scholarships in the summer – gives your child the chance to attend camp while providing much needed daycare while you are at work.
- Support – We have prayer partners who will pray for your family on a daily basis. We also offer Bible Study and Support Groups.
- General Assistance – Home Repairs, maintenance, oil changes, meals, and more (depending on the situation.)
- Financial Counseling/Budgeting Assistance- We offer a 12 week program to assist out of work parents.
- Job Assistance and Mentoring
- Referrals – to networks, organizations, church groups for needs our ministry cannot meet.
- Misc. – We seek to meet the needs where they exist and are open to helping with various needs. Let us know about your desire/need and it will be evaluated on a case by case basis depending on the resources and volunteers we have available. Examples: help with landscaping, yard work, repairs, childcare, etc.
Struggling Parents Sign Up All of our programs are funded by generous donations from people in our community. There is never a cost for families.
